This holiday I’m showcasing a homemade cheesecake guaranteed to make you dream of sweet goodness thanksgiving night. This is a cheesecake you will crave. Cheesecake calling, tastebuds unite!
1-1/2 cups graham crackers
1.5 cups Golden Oreos, cookie only, remove the filling
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
4 – 8oz packs of cream cheese (Philadelphia used here)
4 large eggs
2 cups sour cream
1-1/2 cup granulated white sugar
2-1/2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp vanilla extract
Toppings (optional per serving)
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1 tbsp white granulated sugar
Splash line juice
1/2 cup praline pecans (crushed)
1 scoop whipped cream
1/2 cup chocolate morsels (melted)
1 scoop whipped cream
Place cookies (without filling) and graham crackers into two ziplock bags. Crush on each side of the bag using any blunt object. I used a glass seasoning jar.
Melt butter until forming a liquid, and pour into the ziplock. Mix thoroughly by shaking and squeezing the bag until blended well.
Place parchment paper in the bottom of the springform pan, spray with nonstick cooking spray. Spread the crust mix into the bottom of the pan forming a thick layer.
Using a hand mixer, blend the softened cream cheese together lightly, then blend in sour cream.
Add each egg individually whip lightly with a fork prior to using hand mixer. Mix in one egg at a time.
Add sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract and mix until smooth
Pour mixture into the springform pan atop the crust. Bake for 1 hour at 375* and set in a large pot filled with 1/2” water. The steam from the water bath will help your cheesecake bake perfectly! Iused a roasting pot.
Remove from oven and allow to cook for 2hour before refrigerating. Let it refrigerate overnight for the perfect thickness.
Crumble pralines in a ziplock bag and sprinkle atop.
Place fresh fruit, sugar, and juice in a small blender and mix until desired consistency. Adult tip – add a tablespoon of liquor to spruce the tastebuds. Grand mariner with chocolate, fruity pre-mixed margarita with berries.
Melt chocolate in the microwave or atop the stove and drizzle on top
Dress with your topping of choice
or enjoy plain.
This cheesecake will have you craving more!
